Palace on Wheels is a musical collective that plays North Indian classical music and other forms of raga-based music such as folk melodies and classic early Bollywood songs from the 40s, 50s and 60s using traditional South Asian instruments such as the sitar, santoor, rabab and tabla. The music is based on improvisation within the framework of Indian classical music, and ranges from lyrical sincerity to playful arrangements and heartbreaking duels. The members have all studied North Indian classical music with masters in India for many years and have played countless concerts in Sweden, Europe and Asia.
